Our Palo Santo is sourced from a dedicated supplier working directly with local communities in Peru. Wood is collected following legal regulations (from fallen trees after their life cycle has ended) including reforestation requirements.

A note on Dragon's Blood:

Dragon's Blood is a rich, crimson resin extracted from the bark or fruit of several distinct species of trees found globally.

The most common sources for commercially available dragon's blood: From the fruit of the Daemonorops draco (Rattan Palm, native to Southeast Asia) and from the bark of the Croton lechleri, (Sangre de Drago, Ecuador, Peru, Colombia, and Bolivia).

Both China and Peru have implemented strictly regulated, sustainable scientific cultivation to protect the trees. Indonesia and Malaysia also implement sustainability practices through broad forest management and agroforestry.

Other sources:

• Dracaena cinnabari (Socotra Dragon Tree; Yemen)

• Pterocarpus officinalis (Bloodwood; Central & South America, Caribbean)

Lighting tips:

Getting a sage bundle to burn correctly can be tricky - for everyone. Take your time and repeat the steps if necessary.

Unwind the string and gently pull apart the bundle just a bit to allow better air flow. Hold the bundle horizontally and light the newly opened end until a large flame grows (10-20 seconds). Blow out the flame. Your bundle should be smoldering at this point.

Items in this listing are sold as a curio only. We provide the traditional tools, but the spiritual intent and outcome belong entirely to the practitioner.
