Waxes & Additives are included for any number of reasons; from the emollient properties of wax, to the physical exfoliation provided by sugars, or the necessary prevention of bacteria... they all play a part. Learn more about the additives we use below.

Beeswax
A natural wax produced by honeybees, well known for its emollient, protective, and soothing properties. In skin care, it is often chosen for it’s skin-nourishing benefits as well as its thickening qualities. Ideal for balms, salves, and lip care. Light, honey-like scent.
Calendula Wax
Extracted from the petals of the calendula flower, this wax is known for its soothing, anti-inflammatory, and healing properties. It helps calm irritated skin, reduce redness, and promote skin regeneration. Provides a vegan alternative to beeswax, and is ideal for gentle creams, balms, and sensitive skin care. Mild, floral scent.
Soap Base
Vitamin E
A potent antioxidant derived from natural plant oils. Properties: moisturizing, healing, and skin-protective. Known for reducing the appearance of scars, fine lines, and wrinkles, while promoting skin repair and protecting against environmental damage. Ideal for all skin types, especially dry or aging skin. Mild, natural scent.
Aloe Vera (juice/gel)
Extracted from the leaves of the aloe vera plant, this cooling gel is known for its hydrating, anti-inflammatory, and skin-healing properties. It helps soothe sunburns, calm irritation, and provide deep moisture. Ideal for after-sun care, moisturizers, and sensitive skin treatments. Fresh, slightly grassy scent.
Menthol Crystals
Cooling, numbing effect for temporary pain relief. A crystalline compound derived from peppermint, known for its soothing and anti-inflammatory properties. It helps relieve irritation, reduce redness, and provide a refreshing sensation. Ideal for muscle rubs, balms, and respiratory blends. Strong, minty, and icy scent.
Vegetable Glycerin
Derived from plant oils, this humectant is known for its moisturizing, soothing, and skin-conditioning properties. It helps draw moisture into the skin, keeping it hydrated and soft. Ideal for lotions, serums, and formulations targeting dry or sensitive skin. Sweet, slightly thick texture.
Cetyl alcohol
Fatty alcohol derived from vegetable fats. Used as an emulsifier and emollient to thicken and improve skin feel/ texture. Considered generally safe for use on skin. Also known as 1-hexadecanol and n-hexadecyl alcohol.
Cetearyl alcohol
Fatty alcohol derived from vegetable fats. A mixture of cetyl and stearyl alcohols. Used as a stabilizer, opacifier, and thickener. It can also be used to boost foam and increase viscosity. Considered safe and nontoxic for use on skin and hair. Also known as cetostearyl alcohol or cetyl/stearyl alcohol.

Raw Sugar
Derived from unrefined sugarcane, this natural exfoliant is known for its gentle, skin-polishing properties. It helps remove dead skin cells, promote circulation, and smooth rough patches. Ideal for scrubs, body exfoliants, and lip treatments. Sweet, mildly sugary scent.
